How to find endless new content ideas

If you struggle to come up with ideas for content to create (e.g. blog posts, social media posts, YouTube videos) then here are some ideas for you...

1: Use Google suggested search

Here’s how:

  • Go to Google

  • Start typing a search term and see what other top terms come up below it in the suggested area

  • Create content about these topics as they are the top searched terms on Google

  • A way to take this further is to then look at each search term and see what results come up from other people - use their pieces of content as inspiration for yours

  • Do not copy other people’s work! If you are worried you might then don’t even look at their post - just use the title as inspiration

2: Use ‘Answer the Public’

Here’s how:

  • Go to www.answerthepublic.com and type in a term related to your niche

  • This will give you all the top searches from around the web based on that search term

  • Use these to come up with new content ideas

  • Be warned: you only get a few free searches per day (or you will need to pay for the service) - so use them sparingly! :)

3: Use Facebook Groups

Here’s how:

  • Join relevant Facebook groups in your niche or in your local area (if you are delivering a service for a local community)

  • Look out for questions and posts about your topic and niche and answer those - but be helpful not promotional or spammy (or you will likely get kicked out of the group)

  • Also use these groups to see what people are struggling with - what problems are they always asking about?

  • Create content to help solve these problems

4: Use most popular videos on YouTube

Here’s how:

  • Go to YouTube

  • Search for terms related to your niche and find the top performing videos.

  • Recreate these topics in your own content

  • Another way to find more content ideas on YouTube is to go in to the comments area of these videos and see what people are asking about or talking about - this will spark more ideas for you

How to keep track of ideas as you find them:

Here’s a simple way to keep track of ideas as you have them or find them via the methods above:

  • start a folder system in the notes app on your phone and/or computer (mine syncs between both so I can add notes wherever I am)

  • As you have a new idea add it to the relevant folder.

  • Next time you are ready to create a piece of content go to the folder and find one of the ideas you have come up with

  • This is SO much easier than having to come up with ideas on the spot - trust me :)

Here’s even more ideas…

Looking for even more ideas? Here’s a few more!

  • Look in the comments of blog posts or Instagram posts in your niche - what additional questions are people asking?

  • Answer the questions your clients/potential clients are always asking you

  • Put up a question sticker on your Instagram stories and see what people want help with

  • Go to Pinterest and search for topics related to your niche (e.g. kitchen design tips) - use these as inspiration for your own content (but don't copy!!!)

There’s literally no excuses for not having a constant supply of content ideas! Hopefully this post has given you lots of new ways to find them!
